The original bungalow brings plenty of charm, with stained glass windows, beautiful timber floors and character-filled spaces, while the newer extension adds generous living areas, modern finishes and plenty of natural light.
The open-plan kitchen, dining and living area is the heart of the home, with a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable seating. Large stacker doors open out to the garden and BBQ, making it easy to move between the sunny living spaces and outdoors.
Upstairs, the master bedroom is a peaceful retreat overlooking the treetops, while a dedicated workspace provides a quiet spot for working or studying, ideal for longer stays or mixing a little work into your time away.
With four bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, Kōwhai House comfortably accommodates families and groups, with a super king, king, queen bed and 2 king single beds. The property is fully fenced, there is also off-street parking for added convenience.
Outside, the garden is a highlight. The mature kōwhai tree give the home its name and create a lovely setting for a morning coffee, a quiet afternoon or an evening outdoors, with the tūī often providing the soundtrack.
The location makes it easy to enjoy Mount Maunganui like a local. Baywave is close by for swimming, the gym and family fun, while great playgrounds nearby make this a handy spot for families. Baypark is also close, making Kowhai House a convenient base for events, conferences and sporting weekends.
The beach is around a 10-minute walk, with a great swimming spot and one of our favourite local cafés along the way. When you’re ready to head into Mount Maunganui, the base of Mauao is around a 10-minute drive, with beaches, cafés, restaurants and plenty to explore.
